Making forest protection more lucrative than destruction
A new initiative, the Tropical Forests Forever Facility (TFFF), aims to protect rainforests by valuing preservation. Launched by Brazil, it seeks $25 billion in national contributions, hoping to attract $100 billion from private investors. Funds will be distributed to developing countries based on hectares of preserved or restored rainforest, with 20% directly benefiting Indigenous communities.
