Indian Navy “Atmanirbhar Adventures task”

The Navy’s battle readiness and dedication to Aatmanirbhar Bharat are on display in this first effort.

Using its most recent indigenous guided missile destroyer, the INS Mormugao, the Indian Navy engaged a sea-skimming supersonic target successfully.

The Indian Navy’s first attempt demonstrates its dedication to Aatmanirbhar Bharat and its future-proof combat readiness, according to the naval force of India.

The newest indigenously built guided missile destroyer of the Indian Navy, INS Mormugao, engaged a sea-skimming supersonic target successfully. This initial effort demonstrates IN’s Future Proof Combat Readiness and dedication to Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, according to a statement from the Indian Navy.

On December 19, 2021, Goa celebrated 60 years of independence from the Portuguese, and the ship Mormugao, which bears the name of the West Coast’s ancient port city of Goa, had its first sea sortie on that day.

The ship is one of the most powerful warships ever built in India, according to the Indian Navy, and is 163 metres in length, 17 metres in breadth, and has a displacement of 7,400 tonnes.

The ship is propelled by four strong gas turbines that work together as a combined gas and gas (COGAG) system to reach speeds of more than 30 knots. The ship has improved stealth features that cause its Radar Cross Section (RCS) to be smaller.

Surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles are just a couple of the sophisticated weaponry and sensors Mormugao is equipped with. The ship is outfitted with a cutting-edge surveillance radar that feeds target information to the ship’s gunnery fire systems.

The ship’s anti-submarine warfare capabilities are provided by rocket launchers, torpedo launchers, and ASW helicopters that were created domestically. According to the Ministry of Defence, it is prepared to combat in NBC warfare situations. (ANI)
