'Hadn't slept for two days before accident': Indian-origin woman jailed for 7 years for Georgia crash, was drunk and driving with suspended license
An Indian-origin woman, Sonal Nandkishor Patel, received a seven-year prison sentence for vehicular homicide and DUI. She caused a fatal crash on I-85 in Georgia, killing Omar Ortiz, a young father who had recently moved to the US. Patel was under the influence of alcohol and drugs, hadn't slept for days, and was driving with a suspended license.
