Delhi Ministers resignation – BJP Vendetta or Checkmate for AAP

Are Manish Sisodia and Steyandra Jain’s resignations a form of revenge for Arvind Kejriwal, or is it a case of checkmate?

This question must be asked is this just vendetta politics from the BJP, or has AAP actually been involved in wrongdoing.

After the Supreme Court declined to entertain Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s petition challenging his arrest and CBI custody in the Delhi excise case, he and another AAP minister Satyendar Jain resigned from the Arvind Kejriwal-led Government. Following their resignation, BJP criticized AAP for alleged corruption, saying they had no other option than dropping the ministers.

Manish Sisodia was in charge of various portfolios while Satyendar Jain held Health and Family Welfare, Industries, Home, Power, Water, and Urban Development. BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Kejriwal should have accepted their resignations much earlier instead of waiting nine months. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari added that not only should both ministers have resigned but also the main culprit Arvind Kejriwal should also step down as per ethics.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said their party had been demanding resignations of both the leaders for a while now. He also added that Kejriwal should resign too as per ethics. BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla further commented on Sisodia and Jain’s resignation saying it was taken only when no resort was left for AAP and was “too little too late.”

Do you think Arvind Kejriwal and his AAP party’s resignation was simply a way to appear as the victim, or was it because they had no other choice to save face? After all, this was the same party that promised alternate politics and honest governance. Is this just vendetta politics from the BJP, or has AAP actually been involved in wrongdoing?
